What think ye, Oppo? I'm just not sold on the color. Aside from that, this is the nicest first-gen pre-facelift on Craigslist in a while.

Wrong color 2/10 would not drive

I would think you could get a newer Lexus for not much more. But new tires and $1000k of work just done, A/C works. It’s not a CP but I would shop for a newer one.

This car would be completely invisible to 99% of the world.

I like the first generation though. They have the thickest conrods of the UZ series, too.

Sleeper time!

Oh they are nice, if you like that one I’m sure it’s fine. I would want a dark interior.

Good price, not crazy about the interior color, but that's subjective.

Not in Memphis. Dark interiors are the worst in summer.

Find out if the timing belt has been done. 90k intervals, which means it’s about due. If it’s had two timing belt services, then it’s a steal. If it’s only had one, and it’s very recent, still a good buy. If it’s had none, it’s not a $3750 LS, but a $6000 LS.
Which, really, still isn’t bad. But the others aren’t wrong when they tell you that you might find cheaper.

I thought the UZs had timing chains. And yeah I know timing is a big deal on cars with the UZ engines.

Definitely a belt; I had mine done right after I bought my ‘00 back in December. Mine was still running on the first belt (179k miles!) when I bought it, but at $4000, it still felt like a steal. If you were looking at a true Series 1 LS (‘89-’94), you wouldn’t sweat it so much, since the pre-VVTI UZ was non-interference. But seeing as this is a Series 2, you’re definitely looking at catastrophic valvetrain damage if that belt goes. It’s worth asking the seller about.

Ok. Thanks for the tip. And I think maybe it's the 3UZ that has the chain but I could be wrong.
